Photography Training for Physically-Handicapped People
Arçelik supports Koç Holding’s "Ülkem İçin Engel Tanımıyorum” (I Stop At Nothing For My Country) program with "Photography Training for Physically-Handicapped People".
The support for different projects continues with the “Ülkem İçin Engel Tanımıyorum” program carried out by Koç Holding. Arçelik conducts the “Photography Training for Physically-Handicapped People” project in cooperation with the Solidarity Association for the Physically Disabled (BEDD) and Fotoğrafmetre Derneği.
With this photography training, Arçelik aims to introduce people with physical disabilities to the art of photography, to ensure that they receive special education in this area and to make them look to life from different window by supporting them to create a special interest area.
The training to be provided by the professional photographer members of Fotoğrafmetre Derneği comprises of 6 lessons including the communication of technical information and outdoor photography practices. Participants who have already learned technical knowledge in the context of the training that 14 physically handicapped BEDD members participate in will find the opportunity to transform their learning into practice with the photographs they will take in different locations in Istanbul. At the end of the project, the work of the students is planned to be exhibited.
The first training took place with the participation of BEDD and Fotoğrafmetre Derneği trainers as well as Arçelik volunteers. Detailed information on the technical features and use of the camera was given to the participants during the training.
Outdoor photography practices within the scope of the training were performed in Rahmi Koç Museum. Participants had the chance to photograph different objects in the museum. Members of the Arçelik Photography Club also participate in the shootings and they support the activities by sharing their knowledge in this field.

Ülkem İçin Engel Tanımıyorum (I Stop At Nothing For My Country) aims to support the improvement of the quality of life in the business and social life of people with disabilities and to provide social consciousness and sensitivity about disability. Within the scope of ‘Ülkem İçin Engel Tanımıyorum’ project, Arçelik also conducts various projects to support the improvement of the quality of life of the disabled.
In this context, 30 Arçelik employees completed "Voluntary Trainer Training" with the support of the Alternative Life Association (AYDER). Volunteer trainers gave seminars on "Accurate Approach to Disability" with 202 separate meetings and 13,009 employees in Arçelik campuses between June 2012 and March 2014.
In addition to these activities, Arçelik employees voluntarily support Boğaziçi University Visually Impaired Technology and Education Laboratory (GETEM) with Ülkem İçin Engel Tanımıyorum (I Stop At Nothing For My Country) project by reading books for the audio library that blind people can use. Arçelik also continued to contribute to the project in 2014 through the “Photography Training for Physically-Handicapped People” project in cooperation with the Solidarity Association for the Physically Disabled (BEDD) and Fotoğrafmetre Derneği.
Within the scope of the project, Arçelik took the first steps to transform working environments and authorized dealers into a disabled-friendly form. The company has been working on making the products to be disabled-friendly.
Arçelik gives priority to the employment of disabled citizens who can work and strives to ensure their professional development. Within this scope, the company continues to employ disabled people and conduct projects aimed at home-based disabled employees. Arçelik authorized dealers also organize seminars on “Accurate Approach to Disability" seminars for primary school students and teachers and work with relevant public institutions on provincial basis to develop disabled-friendly living spaces.
